Traditionally at the top table sits the Bride, Groom, Brides Parents, Grooms Parents, Best Man, Maid of Honour. However nowadays a lot of people do not follow tradition so you can have whoever you like sitting at the top table it’s your day.
The Mercer Suite with a top table can take a maximum of 14 round tables. The Manfred Suite with a top table can take a maximum of 6 round tables.
You can seat up to 10 people round a table but we do recommend 8 so that your guests have a bot of elbow space however, your friends and family will naturally group together so you may have some table with 7 guests, some tables with 8 guests etc..
Yes, we do have an easel at the hotel that you are welcome to use free of charge.
We ask you to bring down to the hotel the day prior to your wedding anything that you have to dress the room. We ask you to show us how you would like your tables setting and where you would like everything to go and we can put everything out for you on the morning of your Wedding unless you have a venue dresser doing it for you.
We can offer a children’s menu or a smaller portion of the adults meal to guests age 12 and under.
Yes we do offer a complimentary menu tasting for the happy couple in our restaurant prior to the wedding. This need to be booked with the wedding co ordinator.

All of our wedding rates including the happy couple's bedroom and Suite upgrade include breakfast.
We offer all of our happy couple's ten discounted bedrooms for the night of their wedding for friends and family wishing to stay at the hotel. We do advise guests to check online prior to booking as we do also offer a few discounted pre paid rates online.
Yes, we do have an Bridal Suite at the hotel. The Suite is NOT included in our Wedding packages. To upgrade the complimentary bedroom included in the packages to the Suite there is an additional cost of £135.00.
Yes, for an additional cost the happy couple can stay at the hotel the night prior to the wedding in a standard bedroom. The rate for this bedroom will be the best available rate for that day at the time of booking.
If you are having your Ceremony at the hotel we require two CD’s or two playlists from you on an iPod the day prior,. The first playlist is an hour’s worth or back ground music to play while the guest are waiting, this can then be used during the meal if desired.
The second play list is 5 songs. The first song is for the Brides entrance, the second, third and fourth songs are to play while you sign the marriage register and the fifth song to is for the happy couple to exit once they are married.
We recommend asking your guests to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony is due to start.
Yes for an additional cost of £300 you can have your Civil Ceremony at the hotel. Please be aware that this cost does not cover the cost of the registrar you will need to contact Chester registry office to book your registrar direct.
Yes we do allow external suppliers into the hotel as long as they are a reputable company with liability insurance. One thing that we do not allow a the hotel is Slush machines (as these stain the carpet).
Yes, we do allow you to bring your own DJ / band. The hotel will require a copy of the DJ / bands Public Liability Insurance and proof that all equipment is PAT tested.

Traditionally the speeches are done after the wedding breakfast however nowadays (especially if those giving speeches are nervous) some people like to do the speeches before the wedding breakfast to get them over and done with so that they can enjoy their meal.
Unfortunately, we do not allow guests to bring their own alcohol onto the premises and we do not allow corkage.
